RPG-7 x2

From the Call of Duty Wiki

RPG x2 is a first tier perk in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that gives the player a RPG-7 and two rockets in his/her inventory. The RPG-7 rocket is inaccurate because the rocket tends to swerve in a random direction after a certain distance, although it has a less swerve if aimed by the iron sights before shooting. RPG-7 rockets can be combined with the perk "Sonic Boom" to increase the damage of the rockets by 10% (from 1000 damage to 1100 damage).

[edit] Multiplayer Tactics

Players will often use this because it can kill in one hit and can destroy a Helicopter, but this is looked down on by more experienced players, and is therefore used only moderately. The RPG can be an effective weapon in the right hands. Users should remember to lead their target and aim at the feet to increase accuracy. Many players will become extremely frustrated if a someone dominates a match simply because that person abused the RPG solely for easy kills, as it is hard to dodge from. Some servers will actually kick a player out if they overuse a RPG. Even a person yielding Juggernaut will usually be obliterated with one shot or at least be severely injured. Using it in Hardcore is inadvisable because it could kill a teammate or, if poorly aimed, kill everyone around the user, including him/herself (but this often makes it an ideal team killing weapon). It is often used alongside Heavy-Built classes that include Shotguns and LMGs.

In the Xbox 360/PS3 versions of the game, the RPG is much less commonly seen in multiplayer use, due to how much harder it is to line up an RPG shot with an anolog stick than with a mouse. It can however be a weapon to use in good humour; there are instances where the RPG has travelled the whole length of the map 'Wet Work' to hit someone in one of the windows at the bow of the ship. Other maps, such as 'Countdown', can yield similar possibilities. RPG's are also good on the map 'Shipment' for CQC simply because it is a smaller map, meaning more kills.

[edit] Trivia

  • This weapon is used on the final campaign mission Game Over, when the player is ordered to pick the weapon up and use it to destroy a Hind pursuing them. However, the Hind cannot be destroyed by the rockets.
  • There is a glitch, known as the Rocket Jump, which exploits the physics of the game, and enables the player to jump higher to places where it would normally be inaccessible.
