The Compensator was cut from the final version of Call of Duty: World at War.
Call of Duty: GhostsEdit
The Recoil Compensator is featured in Call of Duty: Ghosts, and it is only used in multiplayer. It is integral to the USR and L115 sniper rifles, and it reduces recoil; the reduction increases with each kill.
A ballistic computer is mounted on the scope, showing the recoil reduction. After the first kill, it displays a multiplier that increases with each kill, with the maximum being x4.
- Like the Ballistics CPU from Black Ops II, the ballistic computer in Ghosts displays the ammunition of the weapon it is attached to on the screen (.338 for both the USR and L115).
- The ballistic computer is still mounted on the L115 in campaign and Extinction, but it does not retain the same functions from multiplayer.
