The Resurgence Pack is a map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which was released on June 3, 2010 for Xbox 360, and July 6 for PlayStation 3 in North America and PC worldwide, and July 7 for PS3 in Europe.[1] It features five multiplayer maps, costs 1200 MS points for the Xbox 360, and US $14.99 for PS3 and PC. As with the Stimulus Package, this map pack was exclusive to the Xbox 360 for a limited time before being released for PC and PlayStation 3.[2] Out of the included maps, two are from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and three are brand new maps. Strike and Vacant return from the fourth installment of the series. Carnival, Trailer Park, and Fuel are the three new maps that are included.[3]

Maps[]

Carnival[]

Main article: Carnival

Desolate amusement park with excellent vantage points for snipers. It's "unlike anything we've ever done before," said Bowling. The map takes place during the daytime and includes all original art and model assets. Bowling added that the team really wanted to include this in the first map pack, but the team needed additional time for polish. It's a fairly large map and includes many set pieces, such as roller-coasters, a fun house, and bumper cars. Bowling mentioned that he was once camping behind a clown and this acted as great camouflage because the other players thought he was the clown.

Trailer Park[]

Main article: Trailer Park

Contains tight corridors and condensed areas. Very maze-like with obvious choke points. In context of the game, this map is the living quarters for the people who ran the Boneyard found in "The Enemy of My Enemy" and Snatch & Grab. The Boneyard will be viewable in the background. It is favorable for close range fights in the trailers and mid to long range firefights down the long roadways, as well as from inside the trailers.

Fuel[]

This map is completely different from any other in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The setting is an oil refinery and is split into two sections. One area is wide-open for snipers and the other half is a large warehouse with tight corridors. According to Robert Bowling, it is a very large map that competes with Overgrown in terms of size and scale.

Vacant[]

Main article: Vacant

This map returns from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and there is very little visual difference between the two versions. However, on certain game modes, objects and doorways are rearranged.

Strike[]

Main article: Strike

Strike also returns from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, has been totally recolored, a green theme throughout. A lot of the visuals have been technically improved, and there are some gameplay changes. Most notably around the C flag in Domination. It cannot be unfairly camped anymore, and the building next to it has a rear door that prevents usage of the building for camping as the player is always vulnerable.
