Private Rutherford was an American soldier of Fox Company of the 1st Infantry Division who fought in World War II. He is seen in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One.

He only appears in "Operation Husky", invading Gela with Sgt. Hawkins and his squad. After fighting through multiple emplacements along the beach, he was killed by an Italian when kicking open a door.

• Right before opening the door, his name will turn dark red, indicating he is low on health, even though it's impossible for this to happen because he hadn't opened the door yet. This is probably a glitch/development error.
