The Season Pass is a downloadable content that can be purchased to get access to DLC for a discounted price. Season Passes include all main map packs, and may include other bonus content not available from buying the DLC individually. Season Passes began with Call of Duty: Black Ops II but its first iteration was the Call of Duty ELITE membership, which gave players access to all Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Packs. All season passes so far cost $49.99USD each, which is less than buying all map/content packs separately. The Season Pass can be acquired early if one were to order the top edition of the game. An example being Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Atlas Pro edition. From 2008 to 2015, Xbox received all DLCs a month earlier than PC and PlayStation. From 2016 onwards, PlayStation will receive DLCs, a month earlier instead, due to Microsoft losing out on the contract. The cost difference between buying all the DLC separately and the Season Pass is $9.97USD or £6.46. From the Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation DLC up to the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ascendance DLC, the Season Pass holders got DLC weapons a month before the actual release of the DLC.
