For special grenades in general, see Special Grenade.

Special Grenades x3 is a Tier One Perk in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: World at War that gives a player three Flashbangs or three Stun Grenades for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and three Signal Flares, or three Tabun Gas Grenades in Call of Duty: World at War. This perk cannot be combined with Smoke grenades in either game nor with the second tier perk Sonic Boom to increase explosive damage of Flashbangs or Stun grenades.

"3 special grenades. No smoke."

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

This perk is useful for getting the Point Guard challenge, as a teammate killing an enemy the player has stunned gives the player an assist. This perk can be incredibly useful when used with stun grenades on Shipment. The player can simply throw one stun at each of the other three corners of the map when they spawn, and there will be a great likelihood of stunning many enemies. This will get the player many assists. Timing throws well can keep an enemy (or enemies) pinned in a single spot for a fair amount of time. When combining this perk in corners with large groups, the player can be assured that you hit quite a few enemies in time, leaving them with enough time to charge and acquire kills. The player should exercise caution though, as many players start to spray and pray to try and kill the thrower before they are killed themselves. This is the first tier one perk to be unlocked.

Asylum is an excellent place for Tabun Gas because most of the time enemy troops are packed tightly together and when stunned will set the player up for two or three quick kills. Remember to at least aim the Gas Grenade because if you just start chucking them up, it is easy to waste them, or even stun yourself at the time, resulting in your death. Another great tip is to mix and match this with the Shades Perk, Signal Flare, and the Second Chance Perk. If there is an ally down and the player can quickly run to them, set up some flares around them, and save them. This way, no one can see that they are being helped and both of the player can run off to recover. Also, the player won't be affected by the flares due to Shades. It's not recommended in tight spaces, as there will be a lot of bullet fire and grenades.
