The Striker is a semi-automatic shotgun featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, Call of Duty Online and Call of Duty: Mobile, and a fully-automatic shotgun in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone. It was also cut from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[]

Campaign[]

It has the highest ammo capacity of all the shotguns in-game, holding 12 shells in its cylinder. Because of its large capacity magazine, it takes a long time to reload. The Ultranationalists use it as their primary shotgun. It is only found with or without a Red Dot Sight, and sometimes a Woodland Camouflage. It is also possible to find a Woodland Camouflage Striker when the enemy deploys smoke screens on "Loose Ends", as a matter of fact, it can be very rarely found in the other camouflages in "The Enemy of My Enemy" and "Of Their Own Accord". In "The Gulag", one of the Russian soldiers before the breaching wall at the shower room in will occasionally hold a Striker with Woodland Camouflage. Kiril also uses a Striker during the Airport Massacre in "No Russian".

In the campaign, the Striker is found frequently, especially in the later missions of the game.

Multiplayer[]

The Striker is unlocked at level 34.

The Striker is a low-damage but longer-ranged shotgun. The Striker only fires six pellets per shot instead of the usual eight. At any range short of 7.5 meters, the Striker will deal 25 damage per pellet, needing four out of six pellets in a shot to hit to secure a one shot kill. Damage decreases linearly until fifteen meters. At fifteen meters, the Striker will deal fifteen damage per pellet, nedding more than one shot to kill, as that equates to eight pellets to kill. The Striker does no damage past fifteen meters. The Striker's one shot kill capability is perhaps the worst of all shotguns. Not only does the Striker deal poor damage per-pellet, but it fires fewer pellets with each shot. As such, users should probably se the Striker expecting to need two or more shots to kill. Although the Striker's one-shot capability is poor, the Striker has consistent damage throughout its damage profile, and it has slightly more total range than most shotguns, having equal range to the Model 1887. The Striker has low penetration power, limiting the gun's capability to fire through walls.

The Striker's damage profile improves significantly with Stopping Power. At any range short of 7.5 meters, the Striker will deal 35 damage per pellet, needing three out of six pellets in a shot to hit to secure a one shot kill. Damage decreases linearly until fifteen meters. At fifteen meters, the Striker will deal 21 damage per pellet, needing five out of six pellets in a shot to hit to secure a one shot kill. The Striker does no damage past fifteen meters. Stopping Power considerably improves the Striker's one-shot kill capability.

The Striker's fire rate is excellent. The Striker is semi-automatic, with a firecap of 352 RPM. Among shotguns, only the AA-12 consistently beats this. Follow-up shots can be very easily and quickly delivered with the Striker.

The Striker's accuracy is typical for a shotgun. The iron sights of the Striker are unimportant as it is not advantageous in any capacity to aim down the sights with the Striker, as is the case with all shotguns in Modern Warfare 2. The Striker has the same good hip-fire spread of other shotguns, on par with the SMGs in this regard.

The Striker's handling characteristics are typical for a shotgun. The Striker allows users to move at 100% of the base movement speed, but only strafe at 40% of the base movement speed. The Striker reloads shell-by-shell, so reloads can take fairly long. The Striker is a weapon that users will need to micromanage with, as it is easy to dump all the ammo in the magazine, and it can lead to the user reloading more than shooting the Striker.

The Striker's shell capacity is excellent, holding twelve rounds in its magazine. The Striker also comes with a great starting ammo loadout of 36 rounds, allowing for the user to use the Striker for long periods of time before running out of ammo.

The Striker has the standard assortment of shotgun attachments available. The optical attachments can be safely ignored, for they provide no tangible benefit to the Striker, and the aim down sight function is useless anyway.

The Silencer reduces muzzle flash, makes the Striker quieter when firing, and prevents the Striker from revealing the user on radar when firing the Striker. However, the attachment comes with a severe range penalty. The Striker's damage begins to drop off at 3.75 meters, and ends at ten meters. The Striker may not be very reliant on damage, and has extra range compared to other silenced shotguns, but the range penalty is still harsh enough to scare many players away from using the attachment entirely. For those looking to use a silenced shotgun, the Striker perhaps fits the bill best.

The Grip provides a significant centerspeed increase, making the Striker's recoil less of an issue. Recoil is not a major factor on shotguns by and large, but the Grip is the only attachment that is of any substantial note up until Extended Mags is unlocked.

FMJ increases the Striker's penetration power. Shotguns are not good fits for FMJ seeing how their penetration power is still mediocre even with FMJ equipped, so the attachment can be safely ignored in most circumstances.

By default, Extended Mags is the best attachment, as it is the only attachment that provides any relevant benefit to the Striker. The attachment increases the Striker's shell capacity to eighteen rounds, the largest a shotgun can have in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, and leaves less ammo needed to be loaded into the Striker. The Striker becomes much longer to reload to full from an empty magazine, but with proper ammo management, this shouldn't be too severe of an issue to deal with. Once unlocked, all other attachments can be ignored in favour of this one.

Overall, the Striker is a shotgun that, much like the AA-12, relies far more on volume of fire rather than one-shot lethality to be effective in combat. The Striker's combination of poor damage per-pellet as well as its lacking per-shot pellet count makes it possibly the least consistent shotgun in the game for one shot kills. However, the Striker excels in situations where other shotguns struggle to get one shot kills. The Striker not only provides quick follow-up shots, but large amounts of sustained fire capability, giving the Striker a tremendous damage output and good consistency.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]

Campaign[]

The Striker is found in the hands of Russian troops and the African militia, appearing throughout the campaign. It is also available in several Special Ops missions.

Multiplayer[]

The Striker makes an appearance in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the default multiplayer class "Riot Control" and is unlocked at level 48. Compared to its previous appearance, the Striker has been added a rail in order to accommodate optical modifications, and the barrel is longer than its Modern Warfare 2 counterpart. Its performance remains somewhat similar to its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 predecessor; having moderate power, extremely high capacity, fast semi-automatic firepower and medium accuracy. It is the only semi-automatic shotgun in the game.

The Striker has slightly more recoil than in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While this is not much of a problem in really close range encounters, this can hinder its ability at medium range/firing quickly and staying on target. The Grip attachment and/or the Kick proficiency can remedy this, using both greatly increases ease of use. Range is a useful proficiency for the Striker, making it even easier to take out enemies at medium ranges. The Damage proficiency is also highly recommended, as with all shotguns, as it makes the Striker deadly at close ranges. It also makes it a very good weapon for Infected and for taking out Juggernaut and Juggernaut Recon players. It performs its best at short to medium range, due to its good damage and quick fire rate. However, other weapons such as SMG's or Assault Rifles can easily outgun a player at distance.

On the January 25th update for Xbox 360 (February 3 for PS3), the Striker had a reduction in the maximum number of pellets per shell from 9 pellets to 6. This was likely done in an attempt to balance it with other shotguns because the Striker had superior stats in terms of damage per second, effective range, accuracy, and magazine capacity.

The Striker also appears in Infected in the loadouts "Knife vs Striker" and "Striker vs Jugg". In "Knife vs Striker", the Striker is equipped with Extended Mags and the Damage proficiency. In "Striker vs Jugg", the infected wield it with Extended Mags and the Range proficiency.

Special Ops[]

The Striker is available for both Survival and Mission modes.

Mission Mode[]

The Striker is an enemy weapon in the Mission Mode challenge Over Reactor and an alternate weapon in Fatal Extraction and Smack Town.

Survival Mode[]

The Striker is available in Survival Mode at level 33 and costs $4000. The Striker can kill an unarmored Juggernaut in one magazine if the player is close enough. If the player has no patience or experience with LMGs or other heavy weapons, this shotgun is solid for killing Juggernauts, and can last an entire two-player game if synchronizing with the other player throwing Flashbangs. The only downsides this shotgun has in Survival Mode are a lengthy reload time, even with Sleight of Hand, and high recoil.

Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified[]

The Striker returns in Black Ops: Declassified. It retains the visual model from Modern Warfare 3 while also having a very similar firing sound. As with previous installments, the Striker has lower damage than other shotguns, but has a high magazine capacity along with a high rate of fire.

The subject matter of this article was cut from the final version of a Call of Duty game. Since some information cannot be independently verified, the content on this page may be subject to change.

The Striker was cut from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered[1]. The weapon is usable and complete, indicating it was cut fairly late in development.

Call of Duty: Mobile[]

"Semi-automatic shotgun with higher accuracy at medium and close range."
— In-game description

The Striker returns in Call of Duty: Mobile.

Multiplayer[]

Being a semi-automatic shotgun, the Striker features great rate of fire and weak damage. The weak damage means that a build on accuracy when aiming down sights will only have a one-hit kill range that is less than 10m. Furthermore, this approach is unable to address the Striker's obstructive iron sights and lengthy reload duration.

As such, the Striker is better suited as a run-and-gun weapon for close-quarters maps. Although there are only 2 attachment types that improve hipfire accuracy (muzzle and laser), this allows for the Sleight of Hand perk and Fast Reload Case to be selected, reducing the duration for an empty reload to a more tolerable 3.6 seconds from the original 5.7.

Battle Royale[]

The Striker has high rate of fire for a shotgun, and can deal high damage to enemies. It was available for pickup from the ground, though this is no longer the case. It is now only obtainable from airdrops, if chosen as a customized weapon in the loadout.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War[]

"Full-auto shotgun. Superior fire rate with reliable damage and the largest ammo pool in class. Hand loaded with slower reload speeds."
— In-game description

The Striker retuns in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as the Streetsweeper. It was added on January 7th, 2021 as part of the Season One update.

Unlike previous iterations, the Streetsweeper features a unique folding stock on its model, and is fully-automatic instead of semi-auto. Additionally, each time a shell is loaded into the weapon, the player rotates a knob on the front of the drum to cycle each of the shells through it.

Overview[]

Multiplayer[]

The Streetsweeper, like other shotguns in the game, is a secondary weapon, and thus can be equipped alongside a primary weapon without the use of a Wildcard.

The Streetsweeper is a very powerful weapon in close-quarters-combat, quickly dispatching enemies with its full-auto nature and large magazine size. However, the Streetsweeper suffers from a horrendously slow reload time of 14 seconds, forcing players into situations where hanging back away from combat to reload the weapon is often best.

Zombies[]

The Streetsweeper can be brought into any map via Create-A-Class, at Loadout rarity. It was added to the Mystery Box and Trials rewards pool as part of the Season Three: Reloaded update.

Like before, the Streetsweeper, while powerful, suffers from a long reload time, which can be slightly nullified with the use of Speed Cola. When upgraded via the Pack-a-Punch Machine, it becomes the Road Rage, gaining additional reserve ammo, increased magazine capacity, increased damage and reloading a single shell reloads five shells at once.

No Magazine Affecting Attachments 12/72 30/280
15 Rnd Drum 15/90 38/228
STANAG 18 Rnd Drum 18/108 45/270

Warzone[]

The Streetsweeper can be found in Call of Duty: Warzone. It appears as a world drop along with any of its blueprint variants, and can be customized in the player's loadout once unlocked. Due to its high power and automatic nature, the Streetsweeper is a devastating weapon at close range, taking only a few shots to shred through enemy armor and subsequently down them. However, due to its slow reload time and ineffectiveness at longer ranges, the Streetsweeper should be treated as more of a backup weapon for close-quarter-combat situations, as the player may find themselves running out of ammo without an opportunity to reload, especially in group fights.

Trivia[]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[]

  • In third person, the Striker lacks the front sight.
  • As with all shotguns, aiming down the sights actually increases the spread of the shots to equal or wider than the weapon fired from the hip with Steady Aim.
  • When changing the Field of View and sprinting, it is possible to see a shotgun shell attached to the player's left arm.
