The article claims it to be a 1 shot kill anywhere, but gives base damage of 70 and 1x multipliers for chest and legs. Clearly this is wrong, should they both be 1.5? Or shuld it be 2x, 1.4 (like others) and then 1.1x for legs?

Wikia's fault[]

The weapon list says that this is a bolt-action rifle but in the stats it says that it is semi-automatic. So it's either the wikia's fault ( More than likely ) or something else, either or, very un-wikia-ish!

It's the game's fault. It lists it as a Bolt-Action Rifle. Darkman 4 22:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

That's wierd. You'd think they check stuff like that.

Well it isn't the only thing they have to do. And that's part of patchesDoc.Richtofen 18:12, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

They probably classified it as Bolt-Action because all other in-game semi-automatics have a 300+ RPM firecap, and people might keep complaining it was a glitch or something. Skulldragon GC 18:26, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Or because, since its only function is a sniper, if it was classified as semi-automatic, the player couldn't spawn wearing a ghillie suit. BengalMan81 00:50, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Picture caption question[]

"Notice how the barrel length of the PTRS is shorter than in the picture." I think it should be, "...the PTRS is shorter in the...", as in real life the weapon's about 6 ft and in the game it looks much shorter.

  • That's just perspective. The chopped-down page images result in false perspective since they're centred rather than offset to the right. Compare the size of the scope to the size of the muzzle brake, then look at how small it appears in first person; it's a long way away from you. Evil Tim 14:34, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

scope[]

I do believe in real life this gun cannot accept a scope. (correct me if I’m wrong)Thedeerhunter 04:07, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Vasili Zaitsev used one with a scope during the Battle of Stalingrad (I heard it from someone on the wiki, so it might be wrong). BengalMan81 00:52, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
