Requesting confirmation of the +40% damage modifier of Stopping Power. Is the modifier exactly +40% for every weapon or is it then rounded to the nearest tens place? Also, I am requesting confirmation of the Juggernaut perk value. A 75% damage degredation equivilates to a 133% health augmentation, not 140%. Either juggernaut and stopping power dont cancel out, or one/both of the numbers are off. Also, requesting source of both perk values. Ryukira 02:56, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

According to www.cod4central.com, Stopping Power increases weapon damage to 140% (excludes explosives), and Juggernaut reduces damage to 75%. With those raw numbers it does suggest that Stopping Power has a (very small) edge over Juggernaut (0.75 * 1.40 = 1.05, i.e. 5% extra damage). It is also detailed that Sonic Boom will increase explosives damage to 125%, which is furthermore not on par with Stopping Power or Juggernaut. I am inclined to trust the numbers over the concept of 'Juggernaut cancels out Stopping Power / Sonic Boom', although the general concept of them canceling each other out is obviously still valid. Pso 15:10, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Also, suggesting an overhaul of the concept of 'first tier', 'second tier' etc. The use of the noun 'tier' suggests a hierarchy or progression of perk choices, e.g. the use of 'second tier' infers that all 'perk 2' choices are superior to the 'perk 1' choices or 'first tier' perks. Pso 15:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Yea i found out about that site right after i posted. It seems that there is a slight off-set in cancellation...but in terms of shots to kill, it makes no difference for any weapon. Man, that site has way more info than this one. This wikia has more potential, however, with the nature of the link system. Anyways, thanks for the response. Now i have to decide if spending my time here is worth it...Ryukira 01:43, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Modern Warfare 2: Cold-blooded perk[]

I have removed the "and Heartbeat Sensors" statement from the description. The stated reference page indicated that this perk would make the player invisible to "UAV, air support, sentries, and thermal". This would indicate in no fashion that the Heartbeat Sensor would also fail to detect them. In case you were wondering, 'thermal' refers to the AC-130 support option (killstreak) which uses thermal imaging to detect and designate targets, unless Infinity Ward also plans to implement some sort of thermal goggles option (which does not seem likely). Incrognito 08:26, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

i believe AC-130 falls into the Air Support category, and that Thermal refers to the Thermal scope. --Cpt Jack House 23:53, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Cold-Blooded blocks targeting from killstreaks, takes red squares away when being targeted by a predator missile or other player-controlled killstreak, and makes the player gray to thermal scopes. Ninja makes the player invisible to heartbeat sensors. I hope that clears this up.--Poketape 22:24, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Killstreaks[]

I was wondering if killstreaks/deathstreaks should be added to this page. Any thoughts?--Poketape 22:24, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Reverse Game Order[]

The order of perks should have the Modern Warfare 2 list at the top. Most people accessing this article today will want to see the perks for MW2, and not having it at the top is confusing and annoying. 173.14.186.225 15:40, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

What?  FANMADE_Animated_Derpy_Hooves_desktop_ponies_sprite.gif Sig1.png Sig2.png 15:41, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

Perk = none[]

Yesterday on the killcam, I saw some guy have his third perk grayed out like the 'no killstreak reward selected' emblem and the description said 'none'. What's up with that? Also, when you go to mw2 challenges, it says for 'ninja defuser' you need to have a perk 'hidden' selected. What's that?

When people's only tier 3 perks are commando and steady aim, and they are using a shot-gun but they don't like to aim down the sight. using steady aim is a bad idea because it makes close range combat worse.

some people don't like commando just 'cuz.

Regarding "Dead Man's Hand"[]

Is it possible that Dead Man's Hand was renamed to Last Stand instead of being cann'd? Or did IW themselves say that Dead Man's Hand was cann'd and or not renamed? Just a theory.

Videos for pro perk differences?[]

I was thinking that for each perk in modern warfare 2 that we have a video showing the difference between por and not pro perks. It could help people understand the difference between the more subtle pro perks, such as leightweight. Anyone agree? Rogue 103 20:08, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Im sure a description is enough.

Challenges involving Perks - MW2[]

I was thinking that the challenges based on perks and the respective rewards for completeing these challenges, I.E. the titles and emblems could be mentioned and the numbers involved to complete them. The-Dreamcaster 12:54, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

New perk[]

So i was just thinking, that if theres going to be any new perks for MW2.I was making ideas of my own perk, and i came up with a perk that allows you to have a pistol for the equipment slot,so you could have both eg. launcher and a sec. weapon as well.Would suit Tier 1 most i think. The Pro version could be to have a ability to have a machinepistol for the eq. slot.

I'd probably put that under Tier 2, since it would effectively be extra firepower, and would be kind of cheap with cold-blooded or danger close (then again, it would completely make a mess of the rules of OMA and Bling, so tier 1 might make more sense). If they did do it, I'd probably only allow handguns in the slot though.Namfuak 21:01, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Black Ops perks[]

I don't like the fact that this section exists. The three pieces of "information" are a rumor and two "There will be" statements - ALL UNCITED. It really bugs me, since I both forgot how to place a "CITATION NEEDED" where the information is displayed, and any time I mark those info pieces for such, the same people who put them there keep redlinking it or deleting it.

~~JederCoulious~~

If they are already confirmed on the Black Ops main page, there is no need for a citation needed tag on here. Cpl. Wilding 01:41, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

I read most of the Black Ops news, both on the website and from other direct sources, but I didn't see any of those statements. Those people who put that stuff on this Wiki down might have twisted the words a bit, so that it seems more appealing to read. ("We may consider this" often turns to "THIS WILL HAPPEN OMG-WTF-ENDOFSTORY" on Wikis)

~~JederCoulious~~

Perks are confirmed in Black Ops DS.

Well at the end of the day, the game is unreleased, still 60+ days till release, and all people know is hearsay. This site will be full of BS soon, from people who see and don't look for sources, then write it here like a gospel. All we can do is try to circumvent this noob-eology and counter it with quick edits and undo :) PJBC Sig Urban-camo 21:56, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

By analyzing the "Full Reveal" trailer, we know that:

Potential Tier-1 Perks are: Lightweight, Scavenger, Ghost (new), Flak Jacket, and Hardline.

Potential Tier-2 Perks are: Steady Aim, Scout (new), Deep Impact

Potential Tier-3 Perks are: Marathon

Of course, with Black Ops still two months away this is all subject to change. --98.25.242.245 09:37, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

Upon further discussion with a friend who was attending an event meeting:

"Perks:
NO stopping power, one man army, commando, or juggernaut
There are pro perks, but as of right now, it is unknown what they are or how to get them.
Your first perk determines your player's clothing.

First Slot:
Lightweight
Scavenger -- Replaces grenades but not equipment
Ghost -- Undetectable by enemy spyplane or blackbird
Flak Jacket
Hardline

Second Slot:
Hardened -- Deep Impact
Scout -- Iron Lungs
Steady Aim
Sleight of Hand
Warlord -- Bling

Third Slot:
Marathon -- Not infinite, but an extended version of extreme conditioning.
Ninja
Second Chance -- Can revive downed teammates, but the timer may be shorter than in W@W.
Hacker -- Sitrep
Tactical Mask -- Immune to nerve gas, flashbangs, etc" --98.25.242.245 09:56, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

Black Ops Pro Challenges[]

I suggest we use the title "Challenges for <Perk> Pro" for pro challenges. --Ryemccrory 02:30, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

Please DO NOT put what you speculate will be pro perks[]

Title says it all: please don't post what you guess the pro perks for Black Ops will be. If you find out please put a reference. Commissar. Dmitri 01:13, September 12, 2010 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that all the pro perks on the page are speculation and unconfirmed. We only know of Hardline and Flak Jacket and everything else is speculation. And on Flak JAcket it also has the WAW Tossback combined with Fireproof. -DD

Foul languange[]

I found foul language under the Deep Impact saying it 'Does your mom', it was edited by an unregistered contributor.

Page formatting[]

It's terrible. Each game section should use the same layout. Imrlybord7 22:28, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

World At War Perks[]

We need to fix the layout of perks in the article, and get some images of the perks in World At War. Commissar. Dmitri 15:14, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Reformating the Page[]

the Call of Duty: 4 Modern Warfare Perks section is very clear and straigh forward. not to mention, visually appealing. I feel that the World at War and Modern Warfare 2 Perk sections be reformated to look more like the CoD 4 section. This would also add uniformity to the page and also streamline the process of locating specific information. (JayPeezey 23:06, October 3, 2010 (UTC))

Black Ops Perks[]

Is Overkill going to return? General Geers 06:06, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

No, Overkill will most likely not be in the game, unless there are going to be surprise perks, which I highly doubt. Imrlybord7 06:10, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
Well that's scuppered most of my cutom class plans. General Geers 06:43, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Messy[]

Okay this page is an absolute wreck, for now, im changing the tables back into normal things Qw3rty! 03:05, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

On the topic of messy[]

I took the liberty of redoing the tables for this pages, still working on the WaW on though. As I am a new editor here on this wiki, I don't have access to implement then because this article is locked. If someone who can put them in, they can be found in my sandbox page here If you would like me to change them in any way, feel free to shoot me a message. O9p 20:16, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

Some admin please put this on...[]

David Vonderhaar has confirmed here that after you unlock a pro perk, you have to buy it, so if you don't want faster ADS, you don't have to have it. etc.http://i.imgur.com/GhKJh.pngP90Deathmanhttp://i.imgur.com/uceaHlB.png22:26, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

Not to be condescending, but who in their right mind would not want extra abilities? Setting aside lack of CoD points, I doubt anyone will not buy pro perks.O9p 22:59, October 14, 2010 (UTC)
well, some abilities may be seen as noobish. Like, if I could use commando pro, but not commando (so I could fall and not die, but not have the sick melee range I do with normal commando) But you're right, most people would probably buy pro perks. at least 99% of them. Black Ops Second Chance pro perk[]

The pro perk for Second Chance is wrong, Josh Olin says so him self;

"Actually, yes. If you have Second Chance, any teammate can revive you - Not just others who also have Second Chance." - JD_2020's Twitter

-- IDave Ja VuTalkcontribs 20:11, October 16, 2010 (UTC)

Not really, too over powered. -- IDave Ja VuTalkcontribs 20:31, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
.....suuuuuuuure it is. You have to stand out in the open for a a whole... what, 3-5 seconds? Enough time for ANY gun to kill you, while your teammate is bleeding out constantly, and has only a single health point? Asides, 9/10- times, when someone goes into last stand, they get killed anyways.TNT Lordofthelargepants The Zipper and The Pockets 22:19, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
Well, I love the the perk, just needs to be more like waw again. By the way, correct this admins -- IDave Ja VuTalkcontribs 23:52, October 16, 2010 (UTC)

Really who the f**k made these pro-perks up? Tac. mask pro is not night vision, proof here

Someone else just said to me that it was 'Bullets do extra damage to vehicle and turrets. Reduced flinch when you are shot.'. Not sure which it is. FBrushfire 20:54, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

I'm in between these two; it looks like it is less recoil when you are shot. -Personal StB sig Stb sig pt2 20:59, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
It says less something when you are hit, obviously that means flinch, cause that's the only thing that ever happens when you get hit, you flinch. Awesome pro perk IMO. 2 effects! TNT Lordofthelargepants The Zipper and The Pockets 08:05, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

We know that. However, if we publish that, Activision gets upset. And their lawyer-fu is bigger than ours. Policy GothicEmperor Talk Contribs 16:49, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

David Vonderhaar has said that on twitter that some perks are different from the beta in the final game (though of course he just doesn't want to acknowledge leaked info's veracity). I guess we won't be completely certain about the pro perks until the game is released. GothicEmperor Talk Contribs 17:52, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

That perk list is unconfirmed and is very likely fake. Check out this topic on the treyarch site and the original vid uploader's accouncement on their channel. --90.197.202.3 12:03, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Cant we just leave them as unconfirmed until the release date hits? I saw that someone had put the night vision goggles back on as the pro perk... This was confirmed to be not true by one of the developers on his twitter account. O9p 14:47, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Lock[]

Could some one make it so this page can be locked again. What has this page been unlocked for what 1 day and its already heavily vandilized with leaked info.Qw3rty! 23:57, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Please Keep it short[]

I don't intend to be mean, but whoever is adding info to the Black Ops perk table needs to trim down the wordiness some. Look at the other tables for guidance. The other tables use more concise and non-colloquial terminology. Im too tired to clean them up right now.... O9p 05:56, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hardened and Pro?[]

Just wondering why the Hardened icon is dulled and if anyone found acceptable pro icons yet?

Black Ops Icons look like Sh*t[]

While I enjoy higher resolution images for the perk icons, the larger ones lack color. They look awful and washed out. Why don't we revert them until our man can get his colors inline? Its not like we are going to loose any overall image quality with them being scaled down anyways. O9p 14:26, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be simpler to combine perks that are similar?[]

Basically what the title says, pages on perks like Last Stand and Second chance would be combined into one with two names. 178.222.196.115 09:10, April 10, 2012 (UTC)GreyMercury

Compressing Ghosts[]

Should the Ghosts section be compressed like the other games so it doesn't have so many headings? Bioniclepluslotr 18:31, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
