Certain Prestige challenges DO reset after another prestige

I think the prestige challenges that DO reset are the ones at the bottom of the prestige category

I prestiged 3 times now and each time knife veteran, stealth veteran, flashbang veteran and stun veteran were all at 0/xxxx. I previously had them partially complete

This is probably because they are so easy to get throughout, they help you level up faster - I got stealth vet II at rank 15 the first prestige

I do not know about any other challenges, the weapon challenges did not reset for me...

Anyone else confirm? or is iw screwing me?

Those ones reset and the first one "dropping crates" (i think that's what it is called) is also reset

Hmm, let's say I'm about to Prestige

I got my scar-l challenges done except for headshots.

If prestige will I lose all my challenges for this gun or any other gun because

I want to get the scar-l title.

It looks like they are "zombiefied" or something. You know? Maybe they planned to implement prestiging into Zombie mode with these symbols but didn't. To further press this I see the new symbols mostly in the new zombies leaderboard. Heh. Could somebody get a full list of all 10 new prestige images? Not certain about that, but I know all titles and emblems are retained. New challenges and an extra custom class slot is confirmed. I'll post here again when I personally Prestige. --The-Dreamcaster 12:21, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Keep in mind, IW doesn't care. I wish they did, but they don't. I earned it, and now I have to put up with those modding degenerates. Sorry, people like that will always plague COD.

I re-added the links, down to the information within them actually being useful and most of it not being covered here. When you say reset, do you mean that all your achievements and weapons are all set back to as if you were at level 1?

Something yet unknown?

Can someone add what this something yet unknown at prestige 10 is?

I just hit 10th last night, (14days played) and i got nothing other than the title and emblem. The something unknown might be the animated 10th medal. You get it after hitting 10th and completing all prestige challenges.

Prestige Mode progress?

Yep. 1-70+prestige exp 10 times before you enter 10th prestige mode. Takes a stupid amount of time and is taking me about 2 days worth of gametime to make level 700000000

again. 3rd prestige so far, maybe going to 5th or 10th. Undecided as yet.

Prestige Challenges MW2

I haven't prestiged myself, but I've heard that certain challenges in the 'prestige' section of challenges reset, and some don't? can somebody confirm which challenges, if any, do/don't reset, and either reply here or maybe add it to the section on MW2? if you reply here, I'll post it.

killstreak

Yeah you do. The only ones that don't reset (If I'm not mistaken) are the challenges that are unlocked when you first prestige, which glow green when viewed. All others reset sadly CirChris _{-Here to help! ^{Fading Fast...}} 01:14, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Modern Warfare 2 7th Prestige

Anyone know what the symbols are in mw2? I'm especially curious with 7th prestige icon. Anyone know what it is? Looks like a soviet medal, but then again so does 9th...

I wish to see better clarification about when the "extra" custom class slots unlock after new Prestige levels. I just "prestiged" for the first time, and discovered 6 custom class slots became available all at once at level 4. I do not know how many class slots were available at level 4 before Prestige #1.

You start multiplayer with 5 custom classes and additional classes are unlocked upon 1st, 3rd, 5th, , 7th and 9th prestige. Effectively you can be prepared for every eventuality and cover some of the more obscure classes with these additional slots.--The-Dreamcaster 13:01, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Another thing about 7th prestige, are people stopping at it, because they have 9/10 custom classes? A lot of people ive seen are just 7th prestige 70.. aside from 10th prestige hackers

COD4 Prestige Medals in Modern Warfare 2

Just a little fun fact I noticed... the Modern Warfare prestige medals are brought back in Modern Warfare 2 as emblems for doing the different prestige killstreak challenges, starting with the 1st prestige medal for the care package kill and the animated 10th prestige medal for Spectre IV.

Unfortunately they don't. However, if you prestige, you unlock new weapon challenges which allow more weapon titles to be unlocked. These challenges are unique in that they will NOT reset if you prestige again. If you need any more help don't hesitate to ask.     14:08, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

ive heard from many people saying that if u get the 10th prestige on cod4 that u automatically get the 10th prestige on mw2 wen u insert the game into ur system.....is this true??

Bugs

There is a bug on prestige mode, if you prestige and shutdown the system without playing a match and then come back to multiplayer, it will be as if you did not prestige at all. (Confirmed in PS3)

This is actually true. If you prestiege and dashboard/shut down, your rank will be set to the last backed up rank which would be the highest level of the previous prestige. This is because if you do it quick enough, you can "reset" anything you have done within the past 5 seconds or so. Game stats save after the game. It for this same reason people can dashboard or shutdown to prevent a loss, gaining alot of deaths from a bad game, etc.

MW2 Prestige.

Hello, i was wondering if you could intially say no to prestiging as i want to do some challenges first (the harder they fall, call in 50 harriers, 25 ac130's) and also improve my K/d while i have all the unlocks. If i said no at first can i then once ive done the things i want to complete then do prestige or do you hae only one chance to say yes to prestige? And if i was able to prestige later, would i keep the titles earned form the challenges i completed after the initial question "do you want to prestige"?

LVL 70/ Prestige exp.

I not ready to prestige (lvl 69) but I was wondering once I reach lvl 70 and decline Prestige, will exp earned after lvl 70 apply to Prestige when I finally accept it?

Basicaly I dont want to start over. If I can continue too play and still aqwire exp that can later apply to my Prestige I will be happy, that way when I do Ill be like lvl 34 @ 1st prestige with a few weapons unlock.

I'll explain how it works for you.

At rank 70, you need to gain a certain amount of exp to enter prestige mode. You have to manually enter into prestige mode.

After you have capped your exp at rank 70, the rest of the exp will go to waste.

No, XP earned at level 70 in one prestiege will not roll over to the next. You start 100% over when you prestige.

Legitimate 10thprestige

In the last section of this article it mentions people are considered hackers for getting 10th prestige. I wonder if this is now immaterial as the game has been out for some time.

Veteran

Just a quick question. i know when you prestige you lose all your unlocks etc as did this with cod 4. however in order to unlock veteran on weapons you need 500 kills on that weapon.

now i have done that on two weapons before my first prestige (to help unlock extended mags) so does that mean when i eventually prestige will i get my veteran call sign for these weapons. i.e. if not then it is better to wait till at least after your first prestige before unlocking mastery and veteran etc. thoughts?

Camo lost?

Hi,

I'm nearing 1st prestige on MW2, and there's one thing keeping me from doing so: Not knowing if my Camoflages reset as well as attachments. If I Prestige, do all my Camoflages on guns dissappear? I'm nearing Fall on my beloved M4A1, and I'd haaaate to have to get 200 more headshots much more than having to get 70 levels back.

EXP in Prestige

I am at level 70 1st prestige. I want to know if I keep playing @ lv 70 and not go into 2nd prestige does all of the xp I be in 1st prestige carry over. In other words if I were to save up enough xp to get me into lv 10 2nd prestige or do I start over completely.

Prestige or Not?

I'm wondering if I should prestige or not. I'm lvl 70 and nearing the amount of xp to be able to prestige. I kind of want to get 10 nukes first (I have 4), but I could easily get them next prestige. Has anyone found out what all of (or most of) the prestige medals for MW2 are in real life? I think I have found maybe 2 or 3, but definitely not all of them. Does anyone know all of them, or some? Thanks

What happens to my camo?

Im lvl 70 on ps3 and have just unlocked fall camo on my intervention, i know someone else has said that you loose your camo on this page, but a friend of mine (1st presige, lvl 49) has told me that you keep your camo. who should i belive?

I kinda enjoy getting camos again because its more of a challenge for you again to see wheather you can get more camos for your weapons that you didn't get on the ones before. I got into a hacked server once (on PC) or a modded server in other words it said press number 3 to unlock everything and although i was a lvl 70 on 10th prestige i still went and unlocked the camos myself and said "screw the modded server, I'm getting it legit like i did with 10th prestige" Quite amazing that people call me a rank hacker too when i don't have all camos on weapons and titles and emblems. SLAUGHTERER.

Well strictly speaking, there isn't any way you can definitively prove that you haven't rank-hacked, unless they are in your room in person or viewing your computer through remote-desktop and see your stats. Anything else could be photoshopped, theoretically (obviously, most rank-hackers wouldn't care enough to go that far). Just using a camo other than Fall doesn't prove anything, there are a lot of times when using your 'highest' camo isn't tactically sound, like Fall Camo on Derail. No, these are not confirmed and I tried to edit the page to add proof that at least one of them is wrong and it was promptly removed and I was warned about editing with leaked information. There's a whole list of potentially leaked information there, but when I prove one piece of it is incorrect, I am at fault? Anyway, Prestige Level 15 does not unlock Prestige Playlists. Black Ops Prestige Trivia

Prestige level 14 is the Marine Raiders icon, also seen in World at War.

2nd Prestige

I have COD: Black Ops and i recently got to Prestige. Is getting 2nd Prestige ,and all the others, completing lvl 50 again and restarting each time you get to lvl 50?

Yes. To prestige you need to complete level 50. If you want all the Prestiges you need to complete level 50 16 times (15 Prestiges and the '0 Prestige'). DeFelleJelle 19:39, May 18, 2011 (UTC) DeFelleJelle

If you use a prestige point to unlock a weapon and prestige i'dontagain, does that weapon stay unlocked? If so, do you keep all the attachments and paints as well?

- Hi, I'd just like to point this out, and prevent (Further) Questions for this so I'll just explain everything in the prestige shop. In MW3 There is a place in your Barracks called the prestige shop, the prestige shop can grant you a couple things in exchange for a prestige token. theres only a limited amount of ways to get these, the game just came out, but I think there will be events and such to get some more. before MW3 came out Activision let us prestige on all other CoD Games for one extra token at the beginning. (CoD 4, World at War, MW2 & Black ops.) anyways, In total you can have 14 prestige tokens. You get one every time you prestige. HOWEVER If you prestige in previous CoD Games NOW. I don't believe you will get the tokens. So If you just got the game, a max of 10 tokens is possible. NOW, The whole reason for writing this, the things you can buy in the prestige shop include: An extra custom class - Gives you one more class then the original 5. 2 hours double XP - 2 hours double XP (Game Time). 2 Hours Double Weapon XP - Helps you level your guns faster so you can get whatever Camo/Attachments faster. Unlock Gear - You must be prestige one in order to buy this. (You can buy multiple times and ANY Gear, not just weapons. Perks, secondarys, equipment etc etc. Anyways, buying the gear will unlock it for future prestiges. Meaning, at Level 4. __ Prestige. You can use, an Ak-47 (Unlocked at level 68 I believe). however, you must re-level the gun again to get the attachments/camos. Next is the Packages. these are just titles and emblems exclusive. (Only way you can get them) to the prestige shop. last but not least. is the reset all stats. Im not sure what this is considering im only 7th prestige. but I'd imagine it wipes your entire combat record so you can restart. From what I heard it resets EVERYTHING including your prestige and all the gear you purchased with the prestige tokens, Even your callsigns. but if you start of in MW3 with a .20 KDR, you know what to do. if you want that is. (Reset all stats is only available at Prestige 10.)

I don't understand what is the order of Black Ops Prestige, same as PS3 and Xbox 360 or the 8th prestige is same as Wii ?

Once you've chosen a prestige reward there's no going back, you'll have to unlock it all again.

In BO 2 their are 11 prestiges not 10

Extra Prestiges In Black Ops 2

Extra Prestiges in Black Ops 2:

I think it should be added in the trivia that through cheating, and changing the source on the ELITE website, it has been discovered that there are emblems for prestiges 12-15, and these mirror the prestiges 12-15 for the Wii version of Black Ops, implying that either Treyarch made the new prestiges over the Wii's old emblems, planning to have 15 but then dropping 5 and having 10 (using an 11th emblem for master prestige), or are planning to edit these and have more prestiges in the future. I believe this is important because I have already seen 2 different hackers with 12 prestige (the lion emblem), and it may confuse players, or make them wonder why it's like that.

Maybe worth noting that DVonderharr has tweeted that he wants to return to simplicity with regards to the prestige emblem, and is therefore unlikely to add more prestiges. These are more likely to be leftovers, but are still relevant considering we have pages on scrapped maps etc.

I think the emblems for the 15 Extinction prestiges should be added as sub section for the Ghosts section, since this is a list of prestiges in general and isn't limited to only online mode prestiging. I've looked around for some clear images of the prestige emblems to use but it's hard to find, the best i've seen are in-game images. TheDethklokGuy (talk) 18:49, May 13, 2014 (UTC)
