"Last year, a clever fellow by the name of Doctor Barnes Wallis created an odd sort of bomb that was specially designed to breach these dams. Using these bombs, the Dambusters from 617 Squadron successfully breached the Möhne and Eder Dams, causing extensive flooding and damage to the industrial heart of Germany. The bad news is the bastards have already repaired the damage done, and Bomber Command wants to have another crack at these targets."
Sergeant Waters on the importance of the sabotage mission.

The Eder Dam is the eleventh campaign mission in Call of Duty and Call of Duty: Classic. The SAS's objective is to destroy nine anti-aircraft guns, then enter the Eder Dam facility and plant explosives on the electrical generators.

Plot[]

After their actions at Pegasus Bridge in Normandy, Captain Price and Sergeant Evans were transferred from the 6th Airborne Division to the Special Air Service in early August. Now, they have been selected for a top secret sabotage mission in Germany.

Sergeant Waters briefs 3 Troop, 2 SAS about their upcoming assignment, welcoming Captain Price and Sergeant Evans to the team. The Eder Dam is one of many hydroelectric power facilities which supports the many factories and cities in the industrial heartland of the Ruhr Valley. In 1943, No. 617 Squadron "Dambusters", Royal Air Force, launched Operation Chastise, using an experimental bomb to destroy the Möhne and Eder Dams and caused extreme damage to local German industry. However, the Germans have since repaired the dam and RAF Bomber Command wants to strike them again. 3 Troop will make a night drop a day's journey away from the Eder Dam, as dropping closer carries too much risk due to the AA guns and radar in the area. The operatives will destroy the AA guns defending the dam to clear the way for the bombers, and then destroy the electrical generators in the power station below in case the bombing mission fails. 3 Troop will extract via truck to an airfield and commandeer a plane for escape.

Sergeant Evans begins northwest of the dam, and engages a German patrol on the north end of the top of the dam with his sniper rifle. When this area is clear, Evans moves south along the length of the dam, using explosive charges to destroy six Flakvierling 20mm anti-aircraft guns along the top. More Germans try to stop him, but are killed. At the south end, Evans moves inside and takes an elevator down into the facility. German loudspeaker broadcasts warn of an SAS infiltration while German guards arrive to stop Evans. He fights his way down into the turbine room and through to another elevator. Evans moves deeper into the facility, eliminating the German troops defending each area.

A long hallway leads outside to the foot of the dam, where Evans enters the power station. He plants four charges on the generators after clearing the area, then moves outside along a causeway to destroy a FlaK 88 cannon and two more Flakvierlings. Returning the way he came, Evans moves back into the facility to take the elevators back up to the top. Waffen SS reinforcements arrive and a German over the loudspeaker tells Evans that the Germans have captured his commander and locked off the area, and he must surrender. Evans continues on, pushing through the German opposition back to the top of the dam, where Price and Waters are waiting with an Opel Blitz truck. Evans gets in, and the trio drive north along the dam and into a tunnel.
