Biography
Torres was one of Nicaragua's most powerful drug cartel leaders, with affiliations to the Menendez Cartel, then lead by Jose Luiz Menendez. Because of his status, he was invited to a sit-down with other powerful Nicaraguan drug leaders on May 21st, 1982, at one of the Menendez Cartel's places of work. Unknown to the Cartel, the CIA learned of this sit-down and conducted an operation to take out the drug cartel leaders and soldiers attending, as well as intercept the narcotics exports. Torres tried to escape capture or death, but was gunned down by a CIA operative during the operation.
