The U.S. Army Rangers are the only American soldiers seen in Call of Duty 2 in singleplayer and the American campaign. The playable character is a member of the 2nd Ranger Battalion, Dog Company, named Corporal Bill Taylor. He is under the command of Sgt. Randall. The campaign spans from the first days of the Normandy invasion to the final months of the war.

The U.S. Army Rangers returns in Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies map "The Darkest Shore", where the Rangers were landing on Heligoland. Two squads of Rangers were seen during the intro cinematic of the map and were killed in action. Only few survived the landing as Peter Straub mentioned.
