The U.S.S. Barack Obama (CVN-8), frequently referred to simply as "The Obama" and with the callsign "Kraken," is an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy that is featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It is the home base for protagonists David Mason and the rest of his SEAL team. It prominently appears in the mission Odysseus, and, depending on the player's actions, the ship may be destroyed or saved. The carrier is named after Barack Obama, who was the 44th President of the United States of America.

Player Decisions

When Raul Menendez infiltrates the ship he eventually comes face to face with Admiral Tommy Briggs. The player will then get to decide whether to shoot Briggs in the leg or head, if the player (Menendez) shoots Briggs in the leg he will survive and be able to save the ship from sinking. However if the player shoots Briggs in the head he will die instantly and the ship will sink, his body willl be found by Mason later in the mission.
