Uplink Drone First Person AW

The Uplink Drone in first person.

The Satellite Drone is a melee weapon in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It is the objective in the game mode Uplink and Defender, and is used in a Special round on Exo Survival.

Multiplayer[]

The Satellite Drone is used in the Uplink and Defender game modes. The Satellite Drone will spawn at a middle point in the map. It grants the player a minor health boost and extra speed, and can be thrown once picked up. It can also be used as a melee weapon, and will kill enemies in one hit. For the Uplink mode, if thrown into the objective, 1 point is awarded, but if it is "dunked", then it 2 points are awarded. It is possible to pass the Satellite Drone to other players. This can be used as a tactic against enemy assailants, as the player can throw the Satellite Drone to them, rendering them near-helpless in a gunfight, and making them relatively easy to kill.

If the Satellite Drone is thrown out of bounds, the Satellite Drone will re-spawn where it originally started. This can be useful if the Satellite Drone is near a team's goal, as that team can simply advance the Satellite Drone upwards of half the map's distance with relative ease.

In Advanced Warfare, Satellite Drone's behavior has been adjusted since the first patch for the game. The Uplink Drone used to be extremely easy to pass to other players, as it homed in on them and traveled in a straight arc. Since the patch, the Uplink Drone now flies in an angled arc, and is harder to throw at players.

Exo Survival[]

In Exo Survival, there are Uplink Rounds, where the player(s) must deliver the Satellite Drone to the designated station, twice. The Satellite Drone can be used as a melee weapon to kill enemies.
