As we all know, the Zombies storyline has been pretty horrible for a while now. Group 935 had managed to build a teleporter to the Moon in Area 51, robotic bus drivers now exist in the 1960s and four mobsters are eternally trapped in a hellish representation of Alcatraz. But, with Buried, the story has taken a turn to the intriguing side.
While there are two opposing easter egg progressions, I'm going to be taking Maxis' side as canon, because of the predictions I'm going to be making. At the end of Maxis' side of Mined Games, Maxis reveals his intentions to reach Agartha, a city that Brock and Gary were trying to prove existed. Now, the reason he wants get to Agartha is that Samantha is allegedly there. However, Edward helpfully points out that she is inside his body.
This is where I think they have revealed the next map. The last time we knew of Samantha's location, she was with the original crew on the moon. How they would get to Agartha, I don't know, but I feel that we will be fighting as them in the next map. I also think that there is potential for the Green Run crew to be bosses, in a way similar to Al. However, another thing that may happen, which I think would be a much better option, is that the original crew and the Green Run guys joining up, with Samantha stuck fighting for two loyalties, her father and her friends.
In the end, though, we have to consider that Richtofen's side of the easter egg never even mentioned Agartha. While there is a possibility that Richtofen knows Samantha is there and he wants to take the crew to kill her, I don't know, but I think there is one thing they can do to stop the canon vs canon situation. Have the Maxis siders play as the original crew, and the Richtofen siders play as the Green Run crew. Both are there for different reasons, and, for what it's worth, I think the idea of setting a map in a city at the Earth's core is pretty awesome.
Right, that's all I have to say. Hooray.
