Hi all,

I thought I'd make a list of what I want to see in the next Call of Duty game.

Engine-wise, the game performs just like the previous installments. Gameplay-wise, some major changes need to be made to keep the game fresh. The following is a list of additions, removals, and tweaks from my standpoint if I could make the next CoD game.

Gameplay

I'd like to see the return of the game modes, currency, viewable statistics, leaderboards, and customizable playercards from Call of Duty: Black Ops. With the currency system, some things should probably be priced a little differently. I would love the addition of a CoD Points logo BO50,000 or similarly-priced stat reset which fully resets all kills, deaths, wins, losses, but not challenges, contracts, purchased items or rank. I would also like to see the return of camouflages earned by headshots; camouflages are meaningless in Black Ops. More shotguns, sniper rifles and handguns would be a welcome change as well.

Melee

Whenever the player melees, they strike the enemy with the currently equipped weapon; the speed and damage of the melee is determined by the class of weapon.

  • Submachine guns, shotguns, and handguns perform a two hit kill and melee very quickly
  • Assault rifles and sniper rifles perform a two hit kill and melee at a moderate speed
  • Launchers and light machine guns perform a one hit kill but melee slowly

Equipment

Lethal

  • Claymore - The player spawns with two claymores that behave as they do in Call of Duty 4
  • C4 - The player spawns with two packages of C4 that behave as they do in Call of Duty 4

Passive

  • Jammer - The player spawns with a jammer that behaves as it does in Call of Duty: Black Ops but stays on the player (similar to Scrambler), able to be turned on and off. Requires a short animation to turn on and off
  • Night vision goggles - The player spawns with NVG's that behave as they do in Call of Duty 4 - Requires a short animation to turn on and off

Lethal grenades

  • Frag grenade - The player spawns with a single grenade that performs as it does in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
  • Semtex grenade - The player spawns with a single Semtex that performs as it does in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
  • Knife - The player spawns with a throwing knife that performs as it does in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and glows gold on the ground as in Call of Duty: Black Ops. This knife replaces the melee system with a one-hit, painfully slow knife lunge

Tactical grenades

  • Flashbang x2 - A combination of the flash and stun grenades of previous installments
  • Smoke grenade x2 - A smoke grenades that behaves as in previous installments
  • Willy Pete x1 - A white phosphorous grenade that behaves as Nova Gas, except with much more severe damage, a shorter throwing range, and larger blast radius (high probability to injure or kill yourself)

Appearance

The player can purchase differently-styled uniforms for each faction. The camouflage pattern changes depending on the map. The player can also purchase a ghillie suit.

Please make suggestions regarding categorization of perks and adding/removing/tweaking the rest. I'm terrible at making up killstreaks, so I spared you guys the misery. Let me know what you think of the changes. Thanks for reading!

P.S. If you tl;dr me, I'll rip off your wanker. :)
