M16:

type: assault rifle

fire rate/ mode: 3-round burst

damage: 40-30

Overview: M16 is a great weappon to use. The iron sights are very accurate and the 3-round burst helps control ammo usage and recoil and furthermore, outputs more damage without requiring manual control (one burst pulls out 3 rounds). The gun is however, rather bad in close quarters unless steady aim is utilized. The reload is very quick and ADS time is normal. It should be noted that the user should have a reliable pistol or be skilled with pistols.

Advantages: The M16 has everything you could ask for in a rifle, it is powerful, accurate, looks cool, and has a quick reload time. But the main advantage of this rifle is that it is compatible with every attachment, when I say sompatible, I don't mean that you can put it on, every assault rifle is compatible with every attachment, what I mean is that the rifle actually benefits from every attachment in some way or another, or it just works with every attachment. The M16 is very versatile for long range to medium range firefights and is highly recommended to new players.

Enfield

type: assault rifle

fire rate: 750 Rounds per Minute

damage: 35-25

overview: The Enfield is the other choice of assault rifle for newer players. It is often chosen over the M16 because it's the first automatic assault rifle you get. The Enfield is a bullpup, and therefore, it has a rather slow reload. The iron sights on the Enfeld are hit-and-miss for some players. For some players, the Enfield's sights are perfect, for others, it is just absolutely disgusting. It is an excellent gun in close quarters and it does not have a lot of recoil for the first few rounds making it excellent for medium range encounters. Once you pull the trigger for about the first half of the magazine, the recoil starts getting annoying so it is recommended you fire in bursts or semi-automatically at long range. Sleight of hand is very attractive for this weapon as it has a slow reload time.

advantages: The Enfield is very powerful, it kills in 3 shots at close range, and 4 at long range. It also has a controllable fire rate making this gun a one to hold onto. The Enfield also has the fastest ADS time out of all the assault rifles, it is just like the SMG's, with Sleight of Hand Pro, it is almost instant making this gun excellent for surpise encounters and as a result, the user has a high chance of winning close range firefights. The Enfield, being the experimental version of the modern day L85/SA80 assault rifle, also has the SUSAT sight available for use, this sight is in my opinion, better than the regular ACOG Scope, but it's all personal preference.

  • Please note that you cannot get the ACOG in place of the SUSAT.

disadvantages: The Enfield, being a bullpup, has a slow reload time, even longer when performing an empty reload making Sleight of Hand very sensible. The Enfield also has F2000-like iron sights (from MW2) meaning that the tick in the middle of the sight where the bullet will go is very small and will be extremely hard to pull off long range shots while taking fire or just in general. A red dot sight is extremely recommended.

M14

type: Battle Rifle

Fire Rate, semi-automatic

damage: 50-40

overview: The M14 is unlocked fairly early on, it is a very powerful weapon. But it is semi-automatic and has high recoil if one tries to triggerspam the weapon. The Iron sights on the M14 are extremely accurate, but it also works with a sight. A red dot works extremely well and may be the best attachment. The ACOG gives more visibility over range. The grip is also recommended for those looking to trigger spam the weapon as it greatly improves the gun's handling. Even though it is semi-automatic, it works rather well in close quarters as it kills in two quick shots. The M14 doesn't have the dual mags attachment, but it doesn't need one because of it's already lightning quick reload. The M14 will often win in medium range encounters with snipers and is a great surprise attack weapon.

Advantages: The M14 works well with every attachment given. One should buy out the red dot sight and the grip first as they are the most worthwhile attachments. The weapon is very powerful and will often win against snipers if the player chooses his/her shots carefully. The reload is extremely quick and of course, don't forget about it's high damage.

Disadvantages: The M14, being semi-automatic, will have a high chance of losing in a gunfight. The M14 takes some getting used to and can be very frustrating. The rifle requires lots of finesse and marksmanship and will usually not do well against strafing/moving targets.

FAMAS

type: assault rifle

fire rate: 937.5 rounds per minute

damage: 35-25

overview: The FAMAS has average power. But the FAMAS' real advantage is its fire rate. At 937.5 rounds per minute, the weapon will often win out against other assault rifles (assuming all shots land on target). This high fire rate and averagely high damage comes at a price, however. The FAMAS has a hard time keeping up with other assault rifles at longer ranges when fired full auto. The FAMAS also does not have a level of compatibility the M16 or M14 has with attachments. The iron sights are extremely clear, but somewhat smaller than other assault rifles. Reload time is averagely long due to it being a bullpup and sleight of hand is needed. It is recommended the user learn how to burst fire or they will have a hard time catching long range targets.

advantages: The FAMAS is extremely good at medium to short range and will often win out against assault rifles of the lower levels. The orin sights are extremely clear and it has an extremely high fire rate..

disadvantages: Although the FAMAS comes with a high fire rate, it comes at a price. The FAMAS consumes ammo at a ridiculous amount and users will often find that they overshoot the enemy (5-15 shots) instead of the actually needed 3-4 shots to kill. The FAMAS's hunger for ammo is hard to keep up with without scavenger, and even with scavenger, assuming the person doesn't pick up another scavenger bag, will have a hard time keeping the ammo alive past 5-7 killstreaks. The FAMAS also has high vertical recoil and a clumsy reload time. There is also a glitch with the FAMAS currently that stops the weapon from firing, although this glitch is present on all guns, it happens very often with the FAMAS to me. The FAMAS also does not have a level of compatibility and therefore, a lot of attachments are a waste of CoDpoints (or at least to me).

Galil

type: assault rifle

fire rate: 750 rounds per minute

damage: 40-30

overview: The Galil is a great overall weapon. It has clear iron sights, low recoil, and high damage. The Galil has a lower fire rate than the FAMAS or the AUG, but this means that ammo isn't as much as a problem as it is on the FAMAS and AUG. The Galil works very well with every attachment, the red dot sight and reflex sight being the most recommended. It is possible to fire full auto and hit someone at longer ranges and therefore, burst firing is unnecessary.

advantages: The Galil has a high damage, low recoil, and very nice iron sights. The little circle in the middle provides a general area where the bullets will hit. The sight's circle is about as large as the default red dot on the red dot sight making the red dot sight unnecessary for most situations. The Galil's greatest advantage would be its larger magazine capacity, it has 35 rounds instead of 30 making it possible to kill more targets without reloading.

disadvantages: The Galil has a very slow reload time. Sleight of hand is needed or the user will find themselves in a bad situation.

rating: 19/20

AUG

type: assault rifle

fire rate: 937.5 rounds per minute

damage: 35-25

overview: The AUG is essentially a FAMAS with less vertical recoil and a little quicker reload time. The sights are just like the FAMAS, except they are larger making it even clearer than the FAMAS. The AUG has a different scope in place of an ACOG. It has a Swarovski Scope which has a little white dot in the middle of the scope making it more accurate than the ACOG.

advantages: The AUG has a high fire rate and clear iron sights. The damage is average and can outshoot most other guns, just like the FAMAS. The AUG has less vertical recoil than the FAMAS, but has more side-to-side shaking. Overall, a FAMAS with minor advantages.

disadvantages: The AUG consumes ammo very quickly and ammo is a large problem. The fire rate is rather uncontrollable.

rating: 17/20

FAL

type: battle rifle

fire rate: semi-automatic

damage: 50-40

overview: Although the FAL is nothing more special than an M14, it is often considered superior to it. The FAL has extremely clear sights and low recoil which makes it desirable for trigger spamming. The iron sights are large and extremely clear, you aim thorugh the tick in the middle. Every attachment works well with the FAL and the already fast reload is further remedied by the dual mags attachment, if bought. The damage is also fairly high, it is interseting to note that the FAL's head damage multiplier is lower, but it does not make a difference.

advantages: The FAL has a quick reload, nice iron sights and most importantly low recoil. The main advantage of the FAL is the low recoil and high damage which makes a world of difference. Optics are not needed, but the ACOG sight can be used to increase visibility. The FAL is recommended over the M14 due to its low recoil and high power.

disadvantages: The FAL is semi-automatic and will usually not outshoot an automatic assault rifle. But the semi-automatic fire rate and low recoil means that you can basically choose your fire rate, if you want to make it go high, then spam the trigger. If you want sniper accuracy, then wait for the recoil to settle. Although, considering this, the FAL is still limited in what it can do compared to the automatic rifles. The FAL should not be used as an offensive weapon unless you know its advantages and disadvantages. Also, when facing multiple enemies, the FAL is not a great candidate for the job.

AK-47

type: assault rifle

fire rate: 750 rounds per minute

damage: 40-30

overview: The AK47 is a powerful rifle and has a controllable recoil, fire rate, and reload time. The sights, although still good, it thinner than before and as a result is not as easy to aim through. The weapon is powerful in close quarters and has the same damage output as the Galil.

advantages: The AK has good iron sights and controllable rcoil, and the reload time is quick. The weapon is extremely good hip-fired.

disadvantages: The AK has a rather bad iron sight and is extremely thin. But that is all there is that's bad about the AK. A red dot or reflex sight is recommended.

rating: 18/20

Commando

type: assault rifle

fire rate: 750 rounds per minute

damage: 40-30

Overview: The Commando is extremely powerful and has very low recoil and good iron sights. The reload is quick and a sight is usually not needed. The Commando is basically an automatic M16 that is shorter.

advantages: The Commando has extremely good sights, it has very low recoil and the fire rate is average. The gun is very powerful and the gun can go full auto at rather far distances. The Commando's level of compatibility and versatility is amazing. Personally, I've won at least 90% of the firfights I used the commando in. The reload time is also extremely quick, even quicker with sleight of hand and dual mags.

disadvantages: The commando is an all-around gun, but it does everything good, but it doesn't do one thing perfectly or extremely well. For example, an SMG will beat the commando in close quarters and a sniper rifle will kill a person with the commando at long range. But the commando can hold its own in every type of environemnt and against different players and weapons.
