Yesterday, the Wii U version of Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops II was updated, enabling Wii U players to access the map Nuketown 2025 for the first time. Nuketown 2025 was released to players who pre-ordered or bought launch copies of the game on day one of release on all consoles except Wii U, and was it was later released for free to all non-Wii U players some months later.
This news comes just a fair amount of time after Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U received the Free Fall map for free, which was the first DLC map released on a nintendo console for a Call of Duty game. In the past, Activision has been notorious for not releasing any DLC on Nintendo consoles. Despite these two free maps being released, neither game has seen the release of a full map pack on Wii U.
It is, however, nice to see that nearly two years after release, Treyarch still cares for its smallest community of players.
