Something I never knew about Australia

I was watching this show called Cities of the Underground on the History channel last night. These 2 guys from WWII were ordered to keep a very large secret up until very recently. There were these underground tunnels that have been around since Australia was a brand new country. Well during the war, Australias military stored tens of thousands of barrels of mustard gas in these tunnels. America and Australia were working together on keeping this a big secret from the Japanese, this and a harbor near Sydney, that repaired damaged American battleships. Japan found out about this harbor and wanted it, but ofcourse they never got to it, they were stopped. If Japan got ahold of that harbor the war could have taken a big turn.

no offence dj but i doubt it would have changed the war. if the US couldn't continue to island hopping campaign and Britian couldn't continue attacking through burma and defending india then Russia would have gone in to japan's mainland whilst an inevitable attack through the south from the western allies would have crippled the japanese. this was all agreed before the war ended. however this could have changed the tide of the cold war because no doubt stalin would have continued his socialist empire into asia which would have given Russia a massive influence in asia which could have caused a much different tide in the cold war.

Ofcourse, I didn't summarize this as best as it should have been, but if you have PSN, check it out in the PS Store, under History Channel, Cities of the Underground, (I think it's season 2) "Alcatraz Down Under" it was very interesting.
Oh, and ofcourse, I couldn't help but Capt. Carebear popped in my head while watching this. You're the only Aussie I know on this wiki lol
Which btw, Carebear, I listened to Buckethead for the first time yesterday, I was floored! This guy is amazing!
