It is now past the middle of 2012, and already, the gaming world is seeing new trends and futuristic technology. Free to Play took off with Team Fortress 2 last year, but it got its real hitch this year with titkes such as Tribes: Ascend and Blacklight: Retribution.
Call of Duty has already attached to the Free-to-Play model with Call of Duty: Online, an F2P version of the Modern Warfare series available only in Asia. However, there is no word whether a F2P Call of Duty will ever make it to Europe and North America.
The Wii U was already revealed 14 months ago at E3, and could provide more new directions. The Gamepad could eventually be a very important camera interface, and its secondary screen can provide more in-depth use with technology in the series.
This leads to another interesting technology: VR Headsets. Earlier, it was announced that Doom 3 BFG Edition would be supported on the Oculus Rift Headset. Could this mean the same for COD?
