According to VGChartz the Pre-orders for Modern Warfare 3 on Console (X360/PS3) are just under 2.5 million in America alone. On the other hands EA's Battlefield 3 has nearly half the amount of pre-orders on console. Both BF3 and MW3 on PC however are both just under 25,000 pre orders, probably due to the criticism of EA's digital distribution platform, Origin and Modern Warfare 2's use of IW net.
