With every new preorder of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Steam is bundling a copy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for no extra charge.

Unlike Battlefield 3, which uses Electronic Arts' new digital distribution platform Origin, Modern Warfare 3 will remain on Valve's competing service Steam and will feature also full dedicated server support and the addition of full Steamworks Integration.

For every copy of Modern Warfare 3 ordered, a copy of Modern Warfare can also be claimed.

The bundle, whilst sounding similar to another deal by Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed, is a cherry on top, and may end up swaying possible Battlefield players on PC back to Call of Duty.

Whilst many PC players already own (and love) copies of Modern Warfare, for players who only jumped in with Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops, it's an opportunity to experience the moment Call of Duty became the blockbuster FPS series it is today, along with possibly taunting players to purchase Modern Warfare 2 to complete their gaming collection.
