Purported Modern Warfare 3 logo and cover leaked. MW3 to "go head-to-head with Battlefield 3."
Update: It seem that this cover and logo are legit because they are seen at the end of the new trailers
Despite the lack of an official announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at Activision's quarterly earnings report, supposedly leaked images regarding the upcoming game may have recently been outed. These included the purported logo for Modern Warfare 3, the box art, and a mysterious logo for a "Call of Duty: Elite."
It has been speculated that this Call of Duty: Elite is the name of Beachhead's online project for the Call of Duty series. Activision has stated that Beachhead's project will tie into the next Call of Duty game - rumored to be Modern Warfare 3.
Gaming news site Kotaku claims that Modern Warfare 3 is a contender to the upcoming rival game, Battlefield 3, being developed by DICE. Modern Warfare 3 will reportedly bring destructible environments to the Call of Duty series. Kotaku further states that "Modern Warfare 3 will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 by focusing on large-scale maps and destructible environments, two of the features that have helped EA's rival FPS franchise earn its strong following."
Speculation has also arisen over the inclusion of vehicles. According to trusted sources, "Modern Warfare 3 will have a urban setting, much like the U.S. missions in Modern Warfare 2, with military vehicles, including tanks, rolling through suburban streets."
Activision has not commented on any of this information.

-

-
Dammit! If the new BF game, it will kill this speculative fiction game.
-
BF is fiction too
-
This game uses modified I.W. 4.0 engine. The next MW game will be using planned free-to-use version of CryEngine.
-
I hate I.W. 4.0 . MW4's engine will be likey to use planned free-to-use version of the CryEngine by Crytek.
-
In my personal opinion,I'm quite dissapointed that they're trying to make it like Battlefield,While overall I prefer Battlefield,I like playing CoD for a fast match. You know what happened when Battlefield attempted to be like CoD? Medal of Honor (2010) multiplayer. It just doesn't work,And it won't work with CoD trying to be like Battlefield,Then again this is just my opinion and me judging from an unofficial source.

there should be a conntrollable cat that you control and explode
-
And then 4chan comes and sticks your head on a pike for cruelty to cats.
-
isn't that supposed to be that RC car in BO?
-
destructible environments ? really? kinda throwing in the towel infinity ward
-
Since when was "legit" not a slang word?
-
Before it became a slang word.
-
i really don't think vehicles should be in it except for airsupport kill streaks. the tanks in WaW took away a lot of fun.
-
U hit the metaphorical nail on the head
-
cod mp died after w@w for me anyway
-
Honestly when people think of large scale battles and huge maps they think of battlefield how come no one thinks about MAG.
-
because that's only on ps3, which is only half of the community.
-
try 1/5th of the community
-
I wonder how well a multiplayer game sells when the network it's based on is down for a month. I'll never understand why a shooting game made itself PS3-exclusive.
-
Because Zipper has always; made Playstation only games.
-
Call of Duty: Elite looks like it will feature weapons from different eras...not just the modern day.
-
Call of duty Elite is the online call of duty supposedly
-
I wouldn't be suprised if vehicles come back do to their growing popularity.
-
Ramirez finish Modern Warfare Three with this 1GB ram card and Microsoft paint
-
^lol, that was unrelated
-
That looks like Roach carrying a M4A1/SCAR-H
-
Roach is Kentucky Fried Insect dude and how the hell would u have recognised him lolz .
-
by zooming in on a 42" screen lol
-
lol, weapon identification fail. those two look nothing alike, how could you confuse them?
-
The rifle's magazine looks straight so it might be a SCAR-H and that grenade launcher looks like the intended grenade launcher for the SCAR-H/SCAR-L, and not an M203.
-
They look similar whilst silhouetted
-
BF is not, I repeat, NOT the only game with destructible environments. CoD are not copying BF. They are adding an element of gameplay. BTW are there killstreaks in BF???
-
killstreaks promote camping
-
vehicles are basically killstreaks
-
What other game features destructible environments? And I mean truly destructible, not just glass breaking or barrel exploding.
-
Lots of games have parts of the environment, or cover, that can be destroyed.
In Goldeneye 007, it's possible to destroy roadblocks, concrete barriers, walkway railings, and pretty much anything made of wood.
-
Infinity Ward has come back to save the Call of Duty franchise! :D
-
if u hadn't noticed there are about 5 IW guys left in the company and they are just writing the story. SP Sledghammer MP Raven
-
ALL OF THE OLD GUYS AT IW ARE FIRED THESE PEOPLE ARE THE NEW IW
-
@Anon Outnumbered, outgunned, out of their minds on a suicide project. Anyway they have Raven and Sledgehammer if they need help.
-
If I'm not mistaken, isn't Infinity Ward rebuilding? I really suppose it all depends on whether or not Vince and Jason win the lawsuit. I expect they will, Activision has a lot of fingers pointed towards itself.
-
All of Infinity Ward (8 people), Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software are making the story, the characters and the whole game...
-
If they can only upgrade the engine and not make a new one like BF3, they can just throw in a physics add-on like PhysX and/or an AMD equivalent.
-
Oh yeah, and maybe they can make their own unique sub-story like Treyarch did with their zombie mode. A mode like MW2's Spec ops but somehow connected to the main story like, for example in MW2's mission Loose Ends, view Toad and Archer's perspective of the mission or even the enemy's perspective.
-
He's been less of a troll than you. At least his arguments make sense rather than saying "you should worship BF cuz it saved cod"
-
@Anon If you could read my comment properly, you'll notice that I never said they SHOULD, I only said they CAN. Plus, I liked Battlefield 2. In fact I've never played CoD online, only Battlefield 2 online. P.S. I love BF1942, BFV and BF 2, and I'm still playing them.
-
Is that John Mactavish in the cover?????
-
It looks more like a helmet-less Ramirez to me.
-
how do you know what ramirez looks like?
-
but nobody knows what Ramirez looks like...
-
Looks like woods.
-
Why does every1 assume that they are referring to MP? It could be SP, then all this arguing about "hay, CoD being like this would be boring and slow blah, blah, blah" etc. etc. etc. will b pointless! And remember, SP is always the first part that has details revealed to the general public.. Also, these might not even be true.
-
No offense but I think all of this is fake. Why would they abbreviate their own game? Also, we're not even sure that MW3 is even coming out, there is no official information.
-
MW3 is definetely coming out, IW confirmed it was in pre production some time ago
-
It was confirmed even before Black Ops came out.
-
It's been confirmed since Activision got sued.
-
@Raven lol
-
they're probably abbreviating it because the whole world will know what it stands for
-
Vehicles are fine as long as: 1) Easily disposable 2) non repaiarable 3) doesnt count towards killstreaks
-
The strongest vehicle should at least have 250 HP and 2 mounted machine guns. Also repairing should be included but it takes 1 minute and restores 50% of it's original health. Once it's destroyed again, it can't be repaired.
-
Anti vehicle launcher and vehicle grenades will balance it all
-
yay
-
yay for what??
-
So it "will have a urban setting"? Really?
-
yeah, it's like saying it's hot in Africa.
-
Cod is making a massive mistake. Battlefield is battlefield because of its large maps, vehicles, and destruction. Cod is cod because of small maps, fast gameplay, and almost no teamwork involved (honest truth, sadly). Making cod like battlefield will be its downfall. Also, with a less developed engine that's been around since cod1, how advanced do you think the destruction will actually be? Battlefield has been doing it for years, cod shouldn't try now. Honestly, keep the game the way it is. It didn't sell tens of millions of copies for being a bad imposter of another game.
-
And when teamwork is used, the team using teamwork wins (usually by a huge margin)...
-
now im getting both but dang this is gonna be a good Call of Duty game for sure
-
Cover looks good n' such. Can't wait. Only problem with big maps? Don't make them MAG sized. Those are f****ing enormous.
-
Yeah, they're huge, I swear it takes at least two minutes to run from one side to another, probably more
