Vichy France was a puppet regime set up by Nazi Germany following their invasion of France in World War II.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One[]

The Armistice Army, the military force of Vichy France, is an enemy faction that appears exclusively in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One during the mission "Baptism By Fire".

In-game[]

In Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, the player is tasked to clear out a Vichy French base in Algeria (Baptism By Fire). The Vichy French use Saharan desert French uniforms. Some of them are legionnaires, they are wearing the famous "képi blanc". The player also flies over Vichy French Algeria in the level "Liberators" and presumably bombs Vichy French ground targets while getting shot at by Vichy French Flak guns.

Equipment[]

They use almost exclusively French weapons, these being the MAS 36, the MAS 38, the MAS 1935 and the Chatellerault, however, a few scoped Kar98ks can be found in one of their armories, and they also use MG42s mounted in machine gun nests or on vehicles. They use many German vehicles, such as the Flakvierling, Sd.Kfz. 251, Opel Blitz trucks, Kübelwagens and Stukas.

Multiplayer[]

The Vichy French appear as the Axis forces in the multiplayer map Canyon.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

Vichy French Algeria appears in the Multiplayer map Excavation.

Call of Duty: Vanguard[]

Vichy French Morocco appears in the Multiplayer map Casablanca.

Trivia[]

  • In Call of Duty 2: Big Red One the Vichy French have more character models than the Italians despite appearing less.
  • A Vichy French radio can be heard throughout the level "Baptism By Fire" although it is fairly hard to hear.
  • The Hotchkiss M1914 HMG was going to be the Vichy French mounted machinegun but only appears in Bonus Material. It was replaced by the MG42 in game.
