Lieutenant Volker was a crew chief on the Sea Knight Helicopter, Outlaw 2-5, seen in the level, Shock and Awe.
He is seen at the end of the helicopter supervising the Marines out of it and covering them with an M9. Due to the last minute rescue of a Cobra pilot, "Deadly" Pelayo, he is killed when the Nuclear bomb explodes. The bomb's shock wave causes the helicopter to spin uncontrollably and he is hurled out of the helicopter from the force. The fall would have crippled him if not killed him outright, and the nuclear radiation would definitely kill him if he were by somehow able to survive the fall.
He was named after Infinity Ward staff member Zack Volker.

- Volker, Price (in the Pripyat flashback), and Vasquez are the only Lieutenants in the game, though Gaz is possibly one.
- He looks quite old to be a Lieutenant. And why an officer would be a crewchief of a helicopter is unexplained.
- It is unknown why he falls out and Jackson does not, possibly Jackson had a better grip, or was seated.
- If you are able to see pilots in choppers (SAS or USMC) you can sometimes see that they are exact copies of Volker.
- Volker's name is also a randomly generated name for marines.
- His death can be seen during the trailer.
- A character model that looks exactly like Volker can be seen piloting your helicopter at the end of The Only Easy Day...Was Yesterday, along with a model of Pelayo.
