Weapon Equivalent
From the Call of Duty Wiki
The Weapon Equivalent of a gun, is a different gun that has roughly or the same stats as another gun, with possibly a few minor differences.
[edit] Near Exact Equivalents
- .357 Magnum (CoD WaW) - .44 Magnum (MW2) - Difference = Near exactly the same, except the .44 Magnum's grip is rubber and the .357 Magnum's grip is completely wooden, not to mention that they fire different Cartriges, and the .357 Magnum has more zoom. Both have 6-round cartriges on them. These guns have the exact same stats, rate of fire (MP), wall penetration and the same mobility.
- M1897 Trenchgun (CoD WaW) - W1200 (CoD 4) - Difference = W1200 has an internal tube magazine capable of holding 7 cartridges, whereas the M1897 Trenchgun has an internal tube magazine capable of holding 6 (SP) or 4 (MP) cartridges. Also, the Trenchgun only has a single ironsight (a blade for the front sight), whereas the W1200 has a rear sight (an aperture sight), and a "barleycorn" type front sight.
- Satchel Charge (CoD WaW) - C4 (CoD 4, MW2) - Difference = No gameplay differences; the remote detonators look and sound very different, Satchel charges are activated by a plunger friction-igniter, C4 is activated by a switch on a remote control.
- All bolt action rifles in WaW are nearly identical. The Springfield fires at 69 RPM, the Kar98k at 66 RPM, and the Mosin-Nagant and Arisaka both fire at 60 RPM. Otherwise they are all identical except that the scoped Arisaka sways less when crouched or prone.
- Knife (CoD 4) - Knife(CoD WaW) - Difference = The knife in CoD4 appears to be a bowie knife, while the knife on CoD WaW appears to be the Kabar USMC Fighting Knife. Also, the knife in WaW is swung faster, and the hit detection sometimes fails to register.
- Sticky Grenade (CoD WaW) - Semtex (CoD MW2) - Difference = Semtex is an Ad-hoc grenade designed as a modern equivalent to the WWII sticky grenade. It is a ball of plastic explosive with a timed detonator in the center, while the sticky grenade has an actual grenade body surrounded by tar or a sticky resin.
- G3 (CoD 4) - FAL (CoD MW2) - Difference = Both fire 20 round magazines, and both have similar damage stats. Though the G3's Iron sights are like the MP5's and the FAL's sights are like the SCAR's.
- Double-barreled shotgun Sawed off w/ grip (CoD WaW) - Ranger (shotgun) (Cod: MW2)- Difference: Essentially they are the exact same weapons, aside from different textures. The primary difference, comes in the form of attachments and where they are available. The Double Barreled shotgun, is normally limited to one attachment choice (Either the Marksman I: Grip, or Marksman II: Sawed Off) with the exception of one found during one of the Red Army missions, and another found in Nazi Zombie game play with both attachments equipped. The Ranger, likewise, only has 2 attachments to unlock, but are much different, being Akimbo and Full Metal Jacket. Both can be equipped together via the Bling Pro perk. The final difference, comes in aiming and firing. The Double Barrel can be aimed down it's sights, and each shell is fired one after the other with the fire button. The Ranger however, is always hip fired, with the ADS button used instead to fire the left barrel, allowing a player to use both shots at once.
- M1919 (WaW) - AUG HBAR (multiplayer MW2) - Differences - AUG HBAR's magazine has 8 fewer rounds in it.
- Type 100 (CoD WaW) - Thompson (CoD WaW) - Difference = The Thompson has slightly more zoom and better wall penetration. Type 100 fires 30 Nambu Cartriges, while the Thompson fires 20 .45 ACP rounds. The guns have the exact same damage, rate of fire, hip accuracy, mobility, and recoil, Type 100's magazine is on side of weapon.
[edit] Rough Equivalents
- PTRS-41 (CoD WaW) - Barrett .50cal (CoD 4, MW2) - Difference = Barrett .50cal uses 10-cartridge magazines, while the PTRS-41 uses 5-cartridge en-bloc clips. The PTRS-41 cannot be fired until after its recoil resets, while the Barrett can be fired up to 1200 RPM. Also, the PTRS-41 is an Anti-tank rifle, whereas the Barrett .50cal is an Anti-material rifle.
- .357 Magnum (CoD WaW) - Desert Eagle (CoD 4, MW2) - Difference = The cylinder of the .357 Magnum holds 6 cartridges, where as the magazine of the Desert Eagle holds 7, the .357 Magnum has a longer reload delay, and the Desert Eagle has much greater visual recoil.
- M1014 (CoD 4) - Double-Barreled Shotgun (CoD WaW) - Difference = Both shotguns are semi-automatic, but seeing as how the M1014 is Gas-Operated and the Double-Barreled Shotgun is Break-Action, the M1014 can hold 7 (SP) or 4 (MP) cartridges in its internal tube magazine, compared to the 2 cartridges held in the chambers of the Double-Barreled Shotgun.
- PPSh-41 (DS) - MP-40 (CoD WaW) - Difference = Both guns have a low rate of fire, high recoil, high damage per bullet and a large magazine, but the PPSh-41 has a much higher ammo capacity than the MP-40, though this can be simulated with Dual Magazines. Also, the PPSh-41 has a slightly higher rate of fire than the MP-40.
- Sten (CoD1, 2, 3) -Type 100 (Cod:WaW)- Difference = The Sten has a straight mag and the Type 100 has a curved one. Also the Type 100 has a wooden buttstock. Both guns were used in different nations. Also, the weapons have different iron sights. The Sten has sights like an M1 Garand, but the Type 100 only has 1 little blade for it's sights.
- Claymore (CoD 4, MW2) - Bouncing Betty (CoD WaW) - Difference = The Bouncing Betty is more rounded and shoots up 3 feet in the air before exploding in a circular pattern, the Claymore is a rectangle and explodes on the spot in a V-shaped pattern in one direction.
- M1919 (COD WAW) - M60E4 (COD 4) - Difference = The M1919 has a slightly longer reload than the M60E4. The M60E4 has more power at close range. Both LMGs have a similar boxed iron sight. The M60E4 has double the magazine capacity in multiplayer.
