Nintendo Wii
From the Call of Duty Wiki
The Wii is the fifth home video game console released by Nintendo. The console is the direct successor to the Nintendo GameCube. Nintendo states that its console targets a broader demographic than that of Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3, but it competes with both as part of the seventh generation of video game systems.
A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and can detect acceleration in three dimensions. Another is WiiConnect24, which enables it to receive messages and updates over the Internet while in standby mode.
Nintendo first spoke of the console at the 2004 E3 press conference and later unveiled the system at the 2005 E3. Satoru Iwata revealed a prototype of the controller at the September 2005 Tokyo Game Show. At E3 2006, the console won the first of several awards. By December 8, 2006, it had completed its launch in four key markets. The Financial Times reported that as of September 12, 2007, the Wii is the sales leader of its generation, based on sales figures from Enterbrain, NPD Group, and GfK. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex will be released on the Wii on November 10, 2009, the same day Modern Warfare 2 will be released for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Call of Duty 4 for the Wii is being "ported" by Treyarch, the same creator of Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty: World at War.
For unknown reasons, Treyarch is dropping the number 4 in the title, leaving the Wii version's official title as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This is most likely because it would be the third call of duty game for wii. [1]

[edit] Relation to the Call of Duty series
Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World At War are available for the Wii. Also, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is being ported to the Wii by Treyarch. There is currently no news of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 coming to the Wii.
It can be considered easier/harder to aim on the Wii as you have to point with the remote. Due to the less powerful hardware than its competitors, the Wii versions of these games are visually not as impressive. Call of Duty 3 for the Wii is the same game as the PS2 one, except the controls, which use the motion sensing capabilities of the console and it's controller.
There is significantly less gore in Call of Duty: World at War on the Wii than other console versions. According to speculation, this is mostly because of the graphical limitations of the Wii. There is no idle sway on scoped weapons because of the natural sway of the person's arm holding the Wii Remote.
[edit] Trivia
- You can aim scoped weapons with the control stick on the Nunchuck just like on the console versions. You can hold the "A" button to steady your aim.
- There is a bug/glitch that happens if you select the above option from the controls menu. In multiplayer you will still aim with the remote, but you can still hold the "A" button to steady your aim even more (if you have steady hands); this eliminates almost all idle sway and makes aiming on the Wii superior.
- The Wii version can't receive patches or map packs. This is somewhat an advantage since all the glitches will not be fixed, "enhancing" gameplay for people who use glitches as and advantage.
