Woodland Camouflage
From the Call of Duty Wiki
Woodland camouflage is a pattern of camouflage used by the military and private citizens (particularly hunters) for use in woodland environments. It uses similar shades as those seen in a natural forest environment in order to allow the camouflaged person or item to blend in with its surroundings. The woodland camo in the game is NOT the standard U.S. Army M81 Woodland camo (it lacks the color black and features two shades of brown, instead of one). The in-game woodland camo is more like Multicam, produced by Crye Inc.
[edit] Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Woodland camouflage is available on any weapon as a default. It can only be used in online multiplayer.
It is not commonly used by experienced players, who generally use patterns obtained through awards. Camouflage is used more as a sign of rank than as an actual tactic, and, therefore, woodland camouflage is quickly discarded once higher camouflage patterns are attained. This camouflage is the best if creeping in the grass as a sniper on maps such as Overgrown and Pipeline.
[edit] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The woodland camouflage returns in MW2, as with all the others. However, the pattern has been changed from the M81 pattern to a tiger variant. Also, it has to be unlocked through the weapon's Expert I challenge by getting five headshots.
