Worm participated in the assault of a Russian Gulag. He makes it to the bottom of the prison along with Roach and Soap and helps secure Prisoner #627, revealed to be Captain John Price. Upon Price referring to MacTavish by his nickname, he comments "Who's Soap?". Worm and the others escape the Gulag by hooking themselves to a helicopter's zip SPIE rig. He is dangerously close to death as a missile's explosion just nearly catches him as they are evacuated.
